A Prayer for Anxiety
Jehovah Shalom. God, my peace.
I thank You for every storm you've brought me through.
At times I see things forming in my life that signal a storm is near. My mind and heart become anxious. Not because I doubt You will see me through, but because I remember what it was like to be in it. But let me remember what it was like to be victorious on the other side of the storm more than I remember the storm.
Your word tells me to be anxious for nothing. But in every situation, by prayer, petition, and thanksgiving, make my requests known.
I come before your throne Heavenly Father and thank you for every battle I've overcome and every storm I've sailed through. I may weep for a night, but I look forward to the joy of the morning.
I cast my cares on You. Guard my heart, Lord. Guard my mind. Give me Your peace in abundance so that all who see me in the storm will see and know that You, God are the giver of peace that surpasses all human understanding. They will understand that Your children will not be overtaken-- even in storms with raging winds-- they too shall come to be saved.
My victory is in you, and anxiety cannot live where your Holy Spirit dwells. It's in the name of Jesus that I pray, Amen.
